On July 15, 2015, “The Daily Herald” in Columbia, Tennessee, published its Best of Maury County special edition, and Life Care Center of Columbia and The Bridge at Columbia both took home honors.

Each year, readers of the newspaper fill out ballots for their favorites in multiple categories, from Best Bank to Best Auto Repair. This year, Life Care Center of Columbia was named Best Nursing Home, and The Bridge at Columbia was named Best Assisted Living Facility.

“The Bridge at Columbia has been a leader in our community since it was established,” said Brian Oakley, executive director at The Bridge at Columbia. “We are known for outstanding food and excellent personal care. Our experience and longevity of staff is another strength that sets us apart. We have won the Best Assisted Living category every year that the category has been offered.”

Likewise, Life Care Center of Columbia has won the Best Nursing Home award for 14 out of the 15 years that the competition has been going. This year is the eighth year in a row.

“We consider it a privilege to serve the families of Maury and surrounding counties,” said Lisa White, executive director at Life Care Center of Columbia. “Our dedicated team of care providers is our greatest resource. I am proud to be part of a team that believes that our residents deserve a caring, loving environment, a chance to experience true healing and the joy of living life to its fullest.”

Life Care Center of Columbia hosted the official awards banquet for all the winners on Aug. 27.
