On July 19, 2017, The Daily Herald in Columbia, Tennessee, published its Best of Maury County special edition, and Life Care Center of Columbia was named Best Nursing Home for the twelfth year in a row.

Each year, readers of the newspaper fill out ballots for their favorites in multiple categories, from Best Bank to Best Auto Repair.

Life Care Center of Columbia not only won Best Nursing Home– it also hosted the July 17 awards dinner where the winners were revealed. It has served as host for eight years now. Shakela Gant, kitchen manager, prepared the sit-down dinner of roast beef with gravy, roasted potatoes, green beans, rolls and cornbread, cheesecake and strawberry shortcake, while members of the facility’s management team served the 132 guests.

“We are proud that we won the Best Nursing Home in Maury County for the past 12 years in a row and have won 15 out of the 16 years that Best Nursing Home has been a category,” said Vanessa Purdom, business development director. “We know that everyone has a choice in who they choose for long-term care, and Maury County has many facilities to choose from, which makes our win so exciting year after year. We don’t take for granted that our families entrust their loved ones to our care, and we take that responsibility very seriously.”
