On Oct. 14, 2017, Life Care Center of Columbia, Tennessee, participated in the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s at the Walk of Fame Park in Nashville.
Around 10 associates joined locals in walking to show support of continued research for better treatment and a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.
The team wore purple T-shirts, the color designated for Alzheimer’s awareness, with the “Mule Kickers” logo on the back, in honor of Columbia’s Mule Day. There were games for children and musical performances after the 2-mile walk.
The facility raised $1,351 for the Alzheimer’s Association.
“Through bake sales and the associates paying a dollar to wear jeans on Fridays with the theme of Casual for a Cause, we worked hard to meet and exceed our goal of $1,000,” said Vanessa Purdom, business development director.
