Each year, the local paper, the Daily Herald, has readers vote on their favorite businesses in multiple categories. This was the 14th time the facility has won the award in 15 years. It won last year as well.
This was also the ninth and final year the event was hosted at Life Care. The event has outgrown the space, and the newspaper is moving the ceremony to a larger venue next year.
“In the beginning, the event was held in the afternoon with 40-50 in attendance,” shared Vanessa Purdom, director of business development. “Three years ago, the event moved to the evening, and attendance has grown from 50 attendees to over 100 winners and guests from the community. It’s bittersweet that this is our last year to host. It’s a great event that brings the community into our building, and it’s been fun for our staff to be part of the excitement.”
The facility’s dietary department served a sit-down dinner with desserts provided by The Bridge.
According to the Daily Herald, this year’s Best of Maury County contest garnered more than 140,000 votes, breaking 2018’s record of 107,000.
