Life Care Center of Columbia, Tennessee, was the site of a little friendly competition for Christmas 2017.
“We just wanted to make it like home for the residents, so we challenged the other hall to a contest to see which hall could be the most festive for the holidays,” said Shelly Kuchinka, unit manager for the Oaks hall.
The Oaks and Magnolia halls each came up with a theme, and the staff on each hall took turns on their breaks, after their shifts and on their day off to decorate and spread some holiday cheer. Many associates dressed up in Christmas outfits as well.
Residents were excited to see the results and vote on the winner of the Deck the Halls contest – the Oaks hall, which decorated with a North Pole theme. Magnolia decorated with a Deck the Halls theme.
